Oscar-qualified short film seeking support for awards campaign
/Hello Princeton Arts Alumni! I am Lydia Cornett '16 and the co-director of TESSITURA, a short documentary co-produced by Chicken & Egg Films and American Documentary.
TESSITURA explores how voice, character, and gender are continuously reimagined in opera by those who grapple with these connections every day. Featuring singers Breanna Sinclaire, Lucas Bouk, Katherine Goforth, and musicologist Dr. Naomi André, the film interweaves contemporary perspectives with opera’s historical conventions, illuminating both tradition and transformation in the field today.
Our film has currently screened at over 30 festivals, with notable stops including True/False, Camden, Rooftop Films, Margaret Mead, Frameline (Winner: Best Short Doc), and Telluride Mountainfilm -- where it qualified for the 96th Academy Awards. We are now seeking support for an awards campaign and are in conversation with several highly recommended media strategists and PR firms.
My team and I are currently looking for support for this next chapter for Tessitura. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to learn more about making a tax-deductible donation, and in the meantime please follow our Instagram page @tessitura_film.
Thanks so much!
