"Lavender Men" Limited Theatrical Release Begins May 2

Based off the critically acclaimed play by Roger Q. Mason '08, the feature film "Lavender Men" will be released in NYC, LA, and DC theaters. Directed by Lovell Holder '09 and starring Pete Ploszek '09 and Mason, the film spotlights Taffeta, an intrepid stage manager who's currently employed at a poorly conceived play about Abraham Lincoln. After a particularly awful night interfacing with both the actors and the audience, Taffeta stays late at the empty theater, daydreaming an elaborate fantasia that recounts Lincoln's secret love affair with his male legal clerk, Elmer Ellsworth. As the evening wanes on, Taffeta must eventually question why they are excavating this story from the shadows of history rather than finding the courage to live their own story in the present.
