Interview with Author David James Duncan

Ann Tashi Slater '84 spoke with David James Duncan--author of the best-selling novels THE RIVER WHY and THE BROTHERS K--about his new novel, SUN HOUSE, and how he has made his way forward during bardo periods of struggle and impermanence. Duncan’s search for meaning, which began when he was 13 and lost his older brother, has been connected to reading great works of literature, doing solo retreats in the mountains, and solving a koan posed by a Mickey Mantle baseball. The conversation is the latest in Ann's bardo interview series for Tricycle. https://tricycle.org/article/david-james-duncan/
