Alumni in the Arts Party 2024
Celebrating 10 years of PA2 and 40 years of Michael Cadden at Princeton University

A letter from our founder…
“Since 2014, hundreds of alums have gathered to celebrate the arts at and after Princeton during the Friday of Reunions. At Reunions 2024, we marked 10 years of PA2 and Michael Cadden's 40 years at Princeton University.
“It was Michael Cadden and the late Tim Vasen who gave the first ‘yes’ for support and seed funding to start Princeton Arts Alumni. How poignant and special that we got to celebrate the first decade of PA2 and Michael's tenure at Princeton all together. Special shoutout to Angel Gardner and the staff at LCA who organized food, drink, and the space for us all to gather.
“Thank you to our on-campus and affiliate partners — the Lewis Center for the Arts, the Department of Music, the Department of Art & Archeology, Princeton University Art Museum, and Princeton in Hollywood — and of course to all of you who brought arts excitement to the gathering! There may not be speeches or cakes at this event for another 10 years, but I do hope you will still join us next year (and hopefully every year) for 2 hours of reconnecting with all your fellow tigers for the arts. Thank you for being a part of and for building the Princeton Arts Alumni Community.”
- Pilar Castro-Kiltz '10, Founder, Princeton Arts Alumni (PA2)
A snapshot of PA2's first 10 years
Princeton Arts Alumni started with a series of events—gatherings, cabarets, and panel discussions thanks to initial seed funding from the Lewis Center for the Arts back in 2014.
The organization soon grew into a major avenue for Tigers to share word of their creative projects through our monthly newsletter, which receives upwards of 300 submissions each year. During the pandemic, we hosted virtual events and opened a public database to better assist alumni and students in connecting.
In 2014 we originated the annual Alumni in the Arts Party at Reunions in 2014, and since then have partnered with the LCA, Department of Music, Princeton in Hollywood, Department of Art & Archaeology, and Princeton University Art Museum to welcome hundreds of alums to gather in celebration and service of the arts.
In 2019 we partnered with the LCA to create for undergraduates paid fellowships to build skills in arts administration working for PA2, during which students launched a podcast, a student-alum mentorship program, and a digital publication, with mentorship and guidance from Pilar. In 2023 GradFUTURES funded a Social Impact Fellowship at PA2 for current graduate students.
We are currently building a board of advisors and, to commemorate our 10th year, we are looking for partners to co-host ArtsXFest, a festival of events illuminating the impact, power, and ubiquity of the arts in shaping our society.
