A New Members' Club Opening in SoHo Commissioned Princeton Alumna Elise Rise '15 to Paint a Full-Room Mural for Its Tea Lounge and Bar

In "Firelight," a mural for Lightning Society, a new members' club opening in SoHo, Elise Rise '15 (Art & Archaeology) explores the first fire as a moment of discovery and the beginning of community, creativity and invention.

The full-room mural surrounds the club's central bar with a forest clearing featuring two figures gathered beside a flame. The mural is an homage to what people can make together, and it is meant to inspire visitors to the club to gather, create and innovate.
