Bio

Avery Gendler grew up in Boise, Idaho, where she developed a love of poetry shaped by time spent outdoors. She studied English, creative writing, and gender and sexuality at Princeton University. On campus, she served as the communications officer for the club swim team and a committee leader for Students for Reproductive Justice. At the University of Oxford, she analyzed Shakespeare’s sonnets and learned to row an eight on the Thames. She recently published a chapbook of poetry, which she wrote and revised after hiking alone through the wilderness. Avery hopes to connect her love of literature to a career in book publishing.
