Marisol Rosa-Shapiro '07 directs BROKEN OPEN

Broken Open Poster

Marisol Rosa-Shapiro '07 premieres BROKEN OPEN, a new work of theatrical circus, produced by the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA).

From the synergistic energy of childlike wonder to a crisis that threatens to turn them to dust, a community navigates the trials and tribulations of growing up, growing together, and being torn apart. What does it take to reconcile and build back together again after a loss of trust and connection? Told through thrilling acrobatics, impressive feats of circus, and an embodied mythology of the everyday objects that make and break our daily lives, Broken Open celebrates human ingenuity, pointing towards signs of hope and interdependence during challenging times.

About Circus Springboard

The New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) presents the annual Circus Springboard show, featuring America’s next generation of circus artists. Circus Springboard tours New England theaters connecting rural audiences to inspiring aerialists and acrobats through the powerful storytelling of theatrical circus. The performers are soon-to-be graduates of NECCA’s 3-year professional training program and this show is the culmination of their study and development as performers and artists. This show is devised with a guest director and each year reflects the artistic collaboration of the director and performers.
