Manuel vs the Statue of Liberty at University Of Indiana

Our show Manuel vs the Statue of Liberty is at the intersection of theatre and political activism and policy . The show is a very humorous take on current immigration policy towards DREAMERs. But it is also specific about one young man’s journey to fulfill his desire to become a Classics Professor and how he is viewed as a criminal just for existing. The Statue of Liberty takes immigration policy to the logical extremes based on where the USA is today, and no one is spared (even baby Jesus gets deported). This show is overtly political and yet we find laughs within a system that seems designed to ruin lives.
The location of the March 4th reading is 122 S Walnut St, Bloomington, IN 47404.
