Oriana Poindexter (P'11) is the Summer 2025 Artist-in-Residence for the Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center. She is both an artist and a marine scientist with an academic background spanning photography, fisheries, and marine conservation. She dives, photographs, and collects specimens to create photo-based works that document the ocean’s shifting ecosystems. Oriana will present an Artist Talk and exhibition of new work created during her residency at Hatfield on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the Carmen Ford Phillips Auditorium in the Gladys Valley Marine Science Center at Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport. An exhibit reception will be held afterward from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. The art exhibit will be on display until mid-December and is free to the public.
