DUM CANTO SPERO (“While I sing, I hope”) is Amuse Singers’ winter choral concert, taking place on Dec 5, 2025 at 7 PM at St. Ignatius of Antioch, 552 West End Ave.
With works ranging from the 12th to 21st centuries, we explore how in song, we hope, and in hope, we overcome. Our program features works by Jakob Handl, Eriks Esenvalds, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Ruth Moody, as well as polyphonic settings from the Codex Calixtinus, among many others. Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased at bit.ly/Amuse-Canto-Spero.
Amuse Singers is a registered 501C3 that relies on the generous support of our donors. Since 2003, we have been dedicated to bringing music for adult treble voices — an overlooked area of performance and composition — into focus. Amuse delivers fresh and imaginative programming of works that span from medieval chant to commissions by contemporary composers.
