This concert presents a works by Margaret Schedel, Niloufar Nourbakhsh, and Flannery Cunningham for solo performers with live electronics. We are three composers who often work with electronics and are deeply interested in interactivity and the physicality of performance. All the pieces are virtuosic in their own ways, whether that virtuosity stems from the volume of decisions performers are faced with, risky live technologies such as short loops, technically demanding passages on an instrument, or learning to manipulate a medium outside one's usual practice. In almost all cases these pieces are also the results of intensive consultation and collaboration with the players who will be performing them.
