Commemorating the centennials of the WWI armistice and Polish independence, the Oratorio Society of New York presents a concert of Polish masterworks and Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem. The performance opens with conductor Kent Tritle leading the 200-voice chorus, soloists, and orchestra in Górecki’s Euntes ibant et flebant followed by Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater, which combines traditional liturgical text with Polish folk music. The concert concludes with Vaughan Williams's plea for peace.
